Rules For Qualifying For The Final

Automatic Qualifiers to the 2010 Final
  1) Winners of each section
      a. 1st Tie-break: Result against each other
      b. 2nd Tie-break: Sonnegorn-Berger Score
      c. 3rd Tie-break: 2009 CC Place
      d. Last Tie-break: USCF-CC Rating
  2) 2nd place finishers scoring 4.5 or more

Provisional Qualifiers to the 2010 Final

The Colorado State Correspondence Final will have at least seven participants. If there are fewer than five automatic qualifiers, then the highest scoring remaining 2nd place finishers will also play in the final.

2nd Tie-break: 2009 CC Place
3rd Tie-break: USCF-CC Rating

Colorado Tournaments:


Time Control: 10 moves in 30 days, 30 days excused time per calendar year
Entry Fee: $20
Registration: Must be RECEIVED by December 15th
Games will start no earlier than January 1st 2011.

Prizes: Winner of Final is 2011 State Champion.
With nine or fewer players, the event will be a round robin. With 10 or more players, there will be two stages to the tournament.
Stage 1: Semi-finals: Single Round Robins (5-9 players)
Stage 2A: Finals: Top two players from each semi-final plus the 2010 Colorado Correspondence Champion will play in a round robin.
Stage 2B: Consolation Games: Anyone who plays less than six games in the semi-finals and does not qualify for the final will be entitled to an additional consolation match.
USCF membership required throughout tournament
CSCA membership required throughout 2011 (or player may pay an additional $5 CSCA tournament fee upfront)
Games will be played on the ICCF webserver (www.iccf-webchess.com), however games are USCF-rated, not ICCF-rated.
