Western Colorado Open, May 10, 2008

4 round Swiss system tournament.
Time Control: Rounds 1 and 2 at G/45, Rounds 3 and 4 at G/60 (3-second delay)
Site: Durango Recreation Center, 2700 North Main Ave. in Durango.
Directions: Large building on E side of Main at N end of town on 27th St.
Entry fee: $20, $12 for over age 60 or under age 20.
Prizes: $100 Guaranteed first place. Other prizes based on entries so that all players have reasonable chances. Top score from player living in Colorado west of the Continental Divide wins trophy for Western Colorado Champion.
Round Times: Before 8:30am at tournament site or in advance. First round 9am.

Boulder Club Championship, June 4 - August 27, 2008

8 round Round Robin system tournament.

Sections: One Closed Section
Entry fee: No Entry Fee.
Prizes: $500 in all. 1st: $200 plus free entry to all Boulder tournaments from September 2008 through August 2009. 2nd: $100, 3rd: $60, 4th: $40, 5th-6th: $30 each, 7th-8th: $20 each.

The 8 players with the most Boulder qualifying points will be invited to the club championship. Should any decline, the players with the next most points will be invited until the eight spots are filled. All players must announce their intention to play by June 1st.
Rounds: Each player must attend at least seven Wednesdays between June 4th and August 27th to play their seven games. Games can start no later than 7:00 PM.
Players who withdraw from the tournament will receive no prizes and may be barred from partcipating in future club championships.

Directions: Take I-25 to Exit 141, US 24 West. Head 3 1/2 miles west towards the mountains and depart Highway 24 at the Manitou Avenue exit. Turn onto Manitou Avenue then go 1 mile to the Manitou Springs City Hall. Turn right for 3 long blocks to the Masonic Lodge.
OPEN: Open to all USCF members.
RESERVE: Open to all USCF members under 1500.
Entry fee: $35 if received by 12 June; $40 at site. $10 less for Juniors, Seniors, or Unrateds.
