Tiebreaks: Prize money will be divided as usual. In case of first place tie, champion will be determined by Modified Median, Basic Median, Solkoff, Cumulative Score, Kashdan (aggressive play).
In case of two perfect scores, unrated Armageddon style blitz playoff by USCF blitz rules (http://www.uschess.org/docs/gov/reports/BlitzRuleChanges.pdf) will be held following the last round. White gets 5 minutes +2 second increment to play for a win. Black gets draw odds (a draw wins as well as a win) with 4 minutes or less +2 second increment. Colors are determined by secret bid for black. Lowest bid claims black. If bids are identical, highest regular rated player draws for color.
In the case of more than two perfect scores, an unrated round robin playoff will be played on November 11. G/15;d5 with 3-1-0 scoring. Time penalty is 1 minute. 1st prize cash will not be distributed until this playoff is complete. Any player who doesn't show up for the playoff without giving the TD notice, or with an unplayed game in the round robin, or who withdraws will forfeit their winnings from the tournament. If a player withdraws from the playoff, all games previously played against that player will be scored as 0 and forced byes will be 0. Additional games will be played if necessary to break tie by remaining players.
Byes: One half-point requested bye available. For rounds 1-3, half-point bye requests are due by 6:45 on the day of the bye. Last round bye requests are due by 6:45 the Tuesday before the day of the bye and are irrevocable. Zero point byes may be taken for any round up to 6:45 except the last round. Unplayed last rounds will be considered withdraw with no prize eligibility.
Player responsibility: (1) Arrive before 7 p.m. round time even after registered or there may be no one to open the locked building entrance for you. (2) Inform the TD if you are unable to make any round. You will be paired each Tuesday once you have paid $5 even if you haven't arrived yet at pairing time. Late players have an hour from start time to show up and move before they forfeit. Keep TD contact information please. Help us avoid forfeit wins.
