Meetings take place every Tuesday, commencing at 6:30 PM and running until the conclusion of the rated games, typically around 10:30 PM. Each month, there’s a rated 4-round tournament featuring a time control of G/70; d/05. If a month includes 5 Tuesdays, there’s either an additional round or a separate quick chess tournament on the 5th Tuesday.
November and December are usually combined to create a 6-round tournament, with no games scheduled near Thanksgiving and Christmas. Registration is open from 6:30 to 7:00 PM each week. The entry fee for DCC members is $6 per week or $20 per month, while non-members pay $8 per week or $30 per month. DCC memberships are available for $45 annually or $28 for 6 months. Spectators and casual players are welcome without any charge. Typically, every week, Life Master and 7-time state champion, Brian Wall, or another highly rated player, delivers a chess-related lecture from 6:45 PM until the start of the rated games at 7:30 PM. This aspect of the DCC promises entertainment and is accessible to everyone for free. Your attendance is appreciated in advance.
